Break's over! Now back to the fun part... School!

Yesterday I joyously opened a package that had arrived upon my doorstep: A brand new Wacom Graphire4 tablet (6x8)! I've never used one of these before, but I had a great time testing it out. I can tell that the two of us are destined to be the best of friends.

As for cleaning up the side-step, I've received some generous feedback from fellow classmates Chad, Anthea, and Albert. After an attempt to heed their warnings about keeping a definite center of balance and making the timing a bit more interesting by focusing on the beginning and end of the step and speeding up the middle, the following result, has resulted. ;)

hi lauren!! this side step is lookig so much better, i can definetely feel the transfer of weight better now. i think i would exaggerate the extreme pose when the weight is all the way over the screen left leg, I would hold that pose a few more frames.

Also think about the force ballie is having to exert to get all the weight over to the left then besically throw himself off balance in order to step over to the side. right now you have the center of ballie's weight over the supporting leg (his right leg) whichis good, when ballie throws himself off balance and gets the weight over to his left leg, his center of gravity would actually go farther past (more towards screen right) then come back to balanced. the reason for this is force, and ballie trying to settle after that force, it will take some effort to get back in balance after this.

a good way to explain about force is: think about jumping onto a step, then jump up 2 steps, the larger the action, the more settling your body will have to do after.

i think you are doing a great job!!
